Hi guys,I've got a KKL VAG - USB lead and the coloured adaptor set and I am trying to connect to the airbag ECU of my Fiat Punto 1999 1.2 8v.
I have the latest drivers installed from http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm and I have changed the latency to 1 in Device Manager as advised. I am running Windows 7 and Multiecuscan is being ran as administrator.
The adaptor is connected fine in Device Manager and when I scan for interfaces in the settings of Multiecuscan it finds my adaptor on the correct COM port as listed in Device Manager (COM5).
I have ran a test once the adaptor has been found and all results complete with no errors.
The KKL VAG lead is connected to my ECU using the correct red adaptor.
When I have selected my car make, model, airbag and airbag type I then press 'F10' to connect and press 'Y' at the adaptor message then I get the following error message:
'CONNECTION FAILED - The port 'COM1' does not exist. Check your cable and serial port settings!'

As stated, all settings look to be ok in both Device Manager and Multiecuscan settings and the test runs fine so what could the problem be?
